  Italy / Veneto

Veneto is Italy's leader in the production of classified wine. The three most well known DOCs are Bardolino, Soave and Valpolicella which account for hundreds of millions of bottles each year, yet unclassified wines made from both local and foreign varietals are a significant force in this north-eastern region.

Other noteworthy DOC wines produced here are the fresh Prosecco which can be either still or sparkling, the rich, red Amarone and the sweet Recioto.
